How does VELA coordinate consolidation and shipping from China?

VELA Home Global aligns supplier readiness, partner-warehouse receiving, package and order records, temporary storage, consolidation and loading preparation. We then coordinate cargo and document information with the client’s appointed freight provider. Warehouse, handling, consolidation and freight charges are quoted separately by third-party providers, and international transport remains under their contracts.

Choose the correct scope

Warehouse control and freight coordination solve different problems.

This overview connects the two stages. The detailed pages explain the records, inputs and responsibility boundaries for each one.

Controlled handovers

Plan the chain before suppliers dispatch cargo.

A consolidation warehouse should not become an unplanned waiting area. VELA Home Global organizes supplier references, expected package quantities, readiness dates, receiving instructions and product risks before goods move. The selected freight provider confirms route, freight method, transport requirements and charges.

01

Release

Confirm the approved goods, inspection status and supplier readiness date.

02

Receive

Coordinate delivery booking, identifiers and the agreed package or order record.

03

Consolidate

Group cargo by shipment, dimensions, fragility, timing and loading sequence.

04

Handover

Connect final cargo, loading and document information to the freight provider.

Responsibility matrix

Know which party controls each decision.

PartyTypical responsibility
VELA Home GlobalSupplier coordination, order information, inspection evidence, readiness follow-up and China-side communication.
Partner warehouseAgreed receiving, storage, handling, package records and consolidation operations under its quoted terms.
Freight providerFreight quotation, booking, route, carrier, transport requirements, insurance options and international shipment terms.

Important: VELA Home Global is not the international carrier. Transit time, customs outcomes, destination charges and transport claims are governed by the selected providers and applicable shipment terms.

Buyer questions

Receiving, mixed cargo, loading and freight boundaries.

These answers state what VELA coordinates and what must be confirmed with the warehouse or freight provider.

Can products from several China suppliers be combined into one shipment?

VELA Home Global can coordinate approved orders from several suppliers through a partner warehouse in China. Receiving, package records, temporary storage, consolidation and loading preparation are planned with the selected logistics provider.

What is the difference between warehouse consolidation and shipping coordination?

Warehouse consolidation covers receiving, order or package records, storage status and grouping cargo for shipment. Shipping coordination connects the approved cargo information to booking, loading and export-document communication with the client’s selected freight provider.

Are warehouse, consolidation and freight charges included in the sourcing fee?

No. VELA Home Global separates its sourcing fee from warehouse, handling, consolidation, domestic transport and international freight charges. Those logistics costs are quoted by the relevant third-party provider.

Does warehouse receiving replace a pre-shipment product inspection?

No. VELA Home Global treats product inspection and warehouse receiving as different controls. Inspection checks the agreed product scope, while receiving normally records orders, packages and visible package condition under the confirmed checklist.

Can fragile furniture, stone, tiles and glass be consolidated together?

They may be coordinated in one shipment plan, but VELA Home Global first identifies weight, fragility, dimensions, stacking and handling risks. Suppliers and the freight provider must confirm suitable packing, securing, loading and insurance arrangements.

Can VELA work with a freight forwarder chosen by the client?

Yes. VELA Home Global can coordinate cargo readiness, package information, loading arrangements, invoices, packing lists and China-side export communication with the freight forwarder selected by the client.

Who is responsible for international freight delays or transit damage?

International freight, carrier performance, transit delays, destination customs events and transport claims remain under the appointed freight forwarder’s, carrier’s and insurer’s terms. VELA Home Global can assist with China-side records and communication but is not the carrier.

Can orders be shipped in phases instead of waiting for every supplier?

Phased shipments may be possible when VELA Home Global, the suppliers, partner warehouse and freight provider agree the readiness dates, storage implications and cargo assigned to each shipment before loading.

Consolidation and shipping questions

Detailed answers for multi-supplier cargo from Foshan and China.

VELA Home Global connects sourcing records to the warehouse and freight plan without presenting third-party storage, freight or carrier performance as its own service guarantee.

Consolidation, packing and shipping

97How do I consolidate products from multiple Foshan factories into one container?

VELA Home Global answer: VELA coordinates delivery to a partner warehouse, order and package checks, temporary storage, consolidation and loading preparation. The logistics provider quotes warehouse, consolidation and freight charges separately.

98Is a mixed container cheaper than shipping each supplier separately?

VELA Home Global answer: It can reduce duplicated shipment costs, but the result depends on volume, warehouse handling, route and timing. VELA coordinates the orders while the selected logistics provider supplies the actual cost comparison.

99What is the difference between FCL and LCL for furniture and building materials?

VELA Home Global answer: FCL uses a full container; LCL shares container space with other cargo. The suitable option depends on volume, fragility, handling risk, schedule and destination. VELA coordinates cargo information with the client’s freight provider.

100How much warehouse storage time is normally included before consolidation?

VELA Home Global answer: There is no VELA standard free-storage promise. Storage terms and charges are set by the third-party warehouse or logistics provider and must be confirmed for the project before suppliers dispatch goods.

101Who checks quantities when goods arrive at the consolidation warehouse?

VELA Home Global answer: VELA can coordinate partner-warehouse receiving and order or package checks. The exact receiving checklist, evidence and responsibility split between VELA, warehouse and freight provider should be confirmed before delivery.

102How should fragile furniture, tiles, glass, and stone be packed for export?

VELA Home Global answer: Packing should reflect weight, fragility, dimensions, stacking and route risks. VELA coordinates supplier packing information and loading preparation, while the freight provider confirms transport requirements and insurance conditions.

103What does container loading supervision include?

VELA Home Global answer: VELA can coordinate loading arrangements and container-loading supervision in China, including package identification and visual loading records. The detailed checklist and any special securing requirements are agreed with the warehouse and freight provider.

104How can I verify the container number, seal number, and loading photos?

VELA Home Global answer: Request a loading record that identifies the shipment, container, seal and photographed loading stages. VELA can coordinate these records with the logistics provider when container loading is included in the project plan.

105Which export documents are needed for building materials from China?

VELA Home Global answer: Documents vary by product, destination and Incoterm. VELA coordinates commercial invoices, packing lists, customs and export paperwork with the appointed freight provider, who confirms the final document set.

106Can a sourcing agent work with my existing freight forwarder?

VELA Home Global answer: Yes. VELA can coordinate cargo booking, packing information, invoices, packing lists and export communication with the freight forwarder selected by the client.

107How long does sea freight from China take to my destination port?

VELA Home Global answer: Transit time changes by origin, destination, route, carrier, season and port conditions. VELA does not guarantee international freight timing; the appointed freight provider supplies the current schedule and terms.

108Who handles damaged or missing goods after the container arrives?

VELA Home Global answer: International transport damage and missing cargo are handled under the freight forwarder’s, carrier’s and insurer’s terms. VELA can assist with communication and supporting records but is not the international carrier.
